About the Role:
The Cook is responsible for preparing meals in a timely manner for our Tribal seniors according to the menu. This role ensures proper food handling, maintains a clean and organized workspace, and keeps refrigeration and storage areas in order. Additional duties may be assigned to support program and departmental goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensures high-quality food preparation and service
Checks food quality (taste, smell, freshness)
Follows recipes and product specifications
Maintains proper inventory levels
Assists with special projects and additional duties as needed

Core Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent required.
One (1) year experience in cooking for large groups required.
Must possess ServSafe Certification or obtain certification within one (1) year from date of hire in this position.
Ability to remain engaged until assignments are completed and overcome obstacles.
Takes accountability for performance and results.
Open and honest communicator and follows policies and procedures.

Chops, slices, and prepares ingredients and sauces
Follows proper food handling, safety, and sanitation procedures
Operates kitchen equipment safely and effectively
Ensures meals are ready on time
Maintains accuracy, quality, and organization

Must pass background and character check
Able to travel and attend required trainings
Capable of performing all job duties successfully
